moodle vs Blackboard study, and some blogs

Well, “study” might be a strong word. They were attempting to answer “Can free software satisfactorily meet the needs of students, faculty, and instructional technologists for online teaching and learning?”

The answer seems to be “yes.” You can find details here.

Also, a few people are trying moodle in their courses and are writing about it….

Dr. Steve Hyndman, Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership at Eastern Kentucky University is blogging about his use of moodle in a web-assisted graduate educational technology course. Read about it here .

Claudia Scholz, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Texas-San Antonio, is also blogging about moodle and a lot of other things. You can read her moodle post here .

Also, I found this article “Using Your Moodle” from ACITT journal, Teaching ICT, Winter 2004. It provides a nice introduction with pictures to the moodle interface.
