I just read about the Biblioteca d’Alessandria’s P2P application to share scientific papers. It also allows for communication (text chatting) and searching. I’m downloading it now. Across Internet2 this could be very useful. However….
However, one should read over the terms of the download agreement since this is sharing of research findings. And it does require a registration to join their sharing network. There is a privacy information page.
It is a java application isn’t the most Mac-friendly to start (requires the command line). I think I need to read its documentation to figure out how to use it!
