The idea of an open, collaborative encyclopedia is a big draw. At wikipedia you can find most everything.
I was pleased to hear about stories by a favorite of mine, HP Lovecraft, at wikipedia. I love how entries like Mollusks take full advantage of the power of hyperlinks. So many key terms are linked to other pages about them.
