I find myself drawn to constructivism. I buy into the theory that people construct their own knowledge based on their experiences and impose meaning on the world. This is opposed to meaning being imposed on the individual. I like many of the pedagogical strategies that are constructivist: active learning, authentic learning, multiple perspectives, and collaborative learning.
I can see how moodle has been built to support diverse learning activities focused on the student. The entire architecture supports the addition of new activities as needed and an ease of community-building.
The article is just 7 pages and is worth a read. It’s very tight and clearly explains the concepts, challenges, and opportunities.
