Thunderbird 1.0 (Firefox’s email cousin) was released yesterday. I just made the switch from Eudora which I’ve been using since it was born in 1992!
So far I am liking Thunderbird. It took me a little while to get my multiple signatures going — I like to choose my signature from several. The default setup is to have just one. But if you install tagzilla , after installing JSLib , you can get multiple signatures. It’s not quite as slick as Eudora yet, but I think it’ll improve over time.
Tagzilla is an extension or a little add-on to Thunderbird to give it more features. You can do the same thing for Firefox. I prefer foxytunes (control iTunes in Firefox) and ForecastFox (get weather forcast icons in Firefox WITHOUT spyware — evil weatherbug!).
I do miss the spell check as you type but I don’t miss the floating ad!
