From elearnspace.org, the transcript of a talk by Stephen Downes nicely ties together how learning objects have failed and the promise of blogs and RSS for education.
The full talk transcript is here. It’s not terribly long to read. It’s a great talk that helps me get a better grasp on why learning objects sound good, but in practice have fallen flat. And I enjoyed how he brought in blogs and RSS. After searching for his Edu_RSS I have found his (Stephen Downes) site. Oh boy, now I have a lot more to read and listen to. It looks like some great stuff for me.
I think I’m heading towards information overload! Though Edu_RSS is the sort of thing I’m looking for.
